Freecycling.co.uk
This site has been reserved by a group of Oxfordshire business people who are subscribe to the Freecycling philosophy. Our idea is to take it one step further, by making it even easier to find homes for your unwanted goods, and so helping the environment by keeping goods out of landfill sites and rubbish tips.
The Freecycling Network was founded in Arizona, USA. The concept is simple. To promote waste reduction, individuals and organisations are encouraged to advertise their unwanted goods. These items are offered up for no fee, so that they are kept out of landfill sites.
Freecycling is now taking place all over the world. It is run by volunteer moderators using Yahoo Groups mailing lists. When something becomes available, a message is posted to all the subscribers in the group, and hopefully someone will be interested in acquiring it.
The idea behind this website is to make it even easier to advertise items that are available all around the UK and to find things that might be of interest to you. By widening the georgraphic influence through the website, it is also expected that we can 'match' up giver and receiver much more easily. No money is to change hands between the giver and receiver. The site will be funded instead by advertising and sponsorship.

We have been collecting names of people who are interested in this service, and when it is launched, we will email you back with details.
In the mean time, we've decided to turn this webpage into a resource for those who want to make a difference to environment by actively taking part in the 'reuse' part of 'reduce, recycle and resuse'.
